Riccardo Zanellato, an internationally renowned bass, is one of the leading interpreters of the contemporary Verdi repertoire. He is celebrated for roles such as Zaccaria (Nabucco), Philip II (Don Carlo), Banquo (Macbeth), and Cardinal de Brogni (La Juive), and has collaborated with maestros of the caliber of Riccardo Muti, Chailly, Abbado, and Pappano. He has performed in major theaters and festivals worldwide, including Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio di Parma, and the Rossini Opera Festival.

In recent years, he has debuted or reprised major roles in productions of Rigoletto, Nabucco, Simon Boccanegra, Aida, I Vespri Siciliani, Hamlet, and Mosè in Egitto, performing on international stages in Tokyo, Geneva, Helsinki, and Muscat, and participating in prestigious concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. Recent honors include the “Verdi d’Oro” (2018) and the Best Bass Award at the International Oscar Awards (2019), confirming his status as a leading figure in the global opera scene.
