Bruno de Simone, a Neapolitan baritone and one of the leading interpreters of the buffo repertoire and Italian bel canto, began his vocal training with Marika Rizzo and later refined his artistry under the guidance of the great Sesto Bruscantini, from whom he inherited stylistic elegance and deep interpretive insight. Winner of numerous international competitions, he made his debut at a very young age in major roles and quickly established himself on the most important Italian and international stages.
Throughout his longstanding career, he has performed in prestigious theatres and festivals, from Teatro alla Scala to the Rossini Opera Festival, from the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples to major European and American opera houses. Renowned as a benchmark interpreter of 18th- and 19th-century comic opera — from Rossini and Donizetti to Cimarosa and Paisiello — Bruno de Simone is celebrated for performances that combine natural stage presence, musical precision, and a carefully crafted vocal style.
Alongside his artistic activity, he is also a dedicated teacher, collaborating with academies and music institutions and leading masterclasses for young singers. His extensive experience and comprehensive artistic vision make him not only a highly respected performer, but also a mentor capable of transmitting the tradition of bel canto to new generations.
